Hurricane Ridge Ski and Snowboard Area

When: Mid-December to end of March, Saturdays and Sundays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Location: Olympic National Park, WA

If you’re looking to get some fresh air and snow time this year, why not go skiing or snowboarding? Hurricane Ridge Ski and Snowboard Area is only 17 miles south of Port Angeles and is a great family friendly ski area with slopes for all levels, from the beginner to the advanced. It’s $35 for an all-day pass and $30 for a half day, or snatch a season pass and hit the slopes as much as your heart desires! Main Street Tree Lighting Celebration and Santa Visit

When: Saturday, December 5, 2015 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.

Location: Haller Fountain, Port Townsend, WA

This family friendly holiday event will put you in the cheerful mood. Arrive early to listen to the Wild Rose Chorale as they stroll the streets singing your favorite holiday songs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Your children will love seeing Santa arrive on the Kiwanis Choo Choo Train to light the tree that is decorated with ornaments created by Port Townsend School children. Santa will visit with children at the Pope Marine Building following the tree lighting.

Steamy Yuletide Ball

When: Saturday December 12, 2015 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Location:  Chapel at Fort Worden State Park, 200 Battery Way, Port Townsend, WA 98368

This holiday favorite is for adults only, ages 21 and older. Olympic Express Big Band will be on hand to entertain and provide lively music to keep everyone on the dance floor. Father Christmas will make an appearance to separate the naughty from the nice. If you are searching for a place where “the halls are decked, the hosts jolly, and the fruit cake will keep you toasty all night long,” the Steamy Yuletide Ball is the place to be in Port Townsend.
